A global forum on the decarbonisation and digital transformation of shipping, bringing the marine engineering communities of Europe and Asia together in Glasgow.
The Conference
The International Maritime Organization has revised its greenhouse gas emission strategy to target net-zero emissions from international shipping by or around 2050. That target is reshaping every aspect of how ships are designed, built, powered and operated. At the same time, rapid advances in digitalisation, artificial intelligence and autonomous systems are turning vessels into intelligent, connected assets.
Meeting these twin challenges demands an unprecedented level of collaboration between researchers, engineers, classification societies, regulators and industry. MET 2027 exists to make that collaboration happen.
The conference is jointly organised by the University of Strathclyde and leading partner institutions and societies from Korea and China. It provides an international forum for the exchange of the latest research findings, technological innovations and regulatory insights across the full spectrum of marine engineering, from green ship technologies, alternative fuels and future propulsion, through advanced onboard systems, to smart, autonomous and digitally enabled shipping.
Programme
Original research, reviews, case studies and industrial applications are invited under all four tracks.
